TEXAS SCRAMBLE FORMAT

  1. SHOTGUN start promptly at 08:30
  2. Men play from Mid Blue tees, Ladies play from RED tees.
  3. All players tee off on each hole and select a preferred tee shot.
      • The player whose tee shot is selected MUST play his/her second shot “as it lies” and the other team members PLACE and play their second shot from within half a club length of the selected ball, but not nearer the pin. On the green the balls must be placed as close as possible to the position of the selected ball.
      • All four players putt but the person whose ball is selected putts first. “Gimmees are permitted if ball lies within white circle around the hole.
      • ‘Bogey is your friend’, in other words the maximum score on each hole is a bogey. If you are not putting for Par or better please pick up and move to the next hole and record your score as a bogey.
      • A minimum of 4 drives must be selected from each team player and the scorecard MUST be clearly marked to indicate which players drive was selected at each hole.
  4. In the event of a team only having 3 players the following conditions shall apply. All three players tee off, but player number 1 plays two balls from the tee. The team then selects any of the four drives and play from that position. This procedure continues for the entire hole.
      • At the next hole player number 2 plays 2 balls
      • At the next hole player number 3 plays 2 balls
      • This procedure repeats in rotation for the entire round
      • he team must use a minimum of 5 drives from each player during the round.
  5. Mark the gross score for each hole on the card and make sure it is signed by the team captain before returning it to the scorers. If you put your name down for longest drive-nearest the pin or nearest the line novelty prizes, then you must use that drive on the scorecard.
  6. Team Captains are the players with the lower Handicap within their team  
  7. In the event of a tie for any of the first three places, the winners will be decided by “count back” over the last 9 holes initially and then see who scored lowest on the stroke index one hole.

MULLIGAN RULES

Maximum of 2 balls can be purchased for S$50 but you can only play 1 on the front 9 and 1 on the back 9. Purchase and registration for Mulligans MUST be before the start of the golf event; this can be done on the night of the cocktail party or at golf registration prior to Tee Off. A Mulligan may be used anywhere on the golf course including the greens except for hole in one prizes, no “provisional” Mulligan’s are allowed. The Mulligan MUST be declared immediately after the last player has completed his shot. USE IT OR LOSE IT

NAVIGATING BETWEEN COURSES

Palm Springs consists of three 9 hole courses, ‘Island Course’, ‘Resort Course’, & ‘Palm Course’. During the BIC Golf Tournament you will only play on two out of three of these courses, either as follows;

 

  1. Island/Resort
  2. Resort/Palm
  3. Palm/Island
  • If you tee off from Island Hole 1, you would continue through to hole 9, and then proceed to Resort Hole 1 and complete the round on Resort Hole 9.
  • If you were to start on Island Hole 6, you will play through to Island Hole 9 and then proceed to Resort Hole 1 and play through all 9 holes on Resort Course, and then proceed back to continue from Island Hole 1, and complete the round on Island Hole 5.
  • If you tee off from Resort Hole 1, you would continue through to hole 9, and then proceed to Palm Hole 1 and complete the round on Palm Hole 9.
  • If you were to start on Resort Hole 4, you will play through to Resort Hole 9 and then proceed to Palm Hole 1 and play through all 9 holes on Palm Course, and then proceed to back to continue from Resort Hole 1, and complete the round on Resort Hole 3.
  • If you tee off from Palm Hole 1, you would continue through to hole 9, and then proceed to Island Hole 1 and complete the round on Island Hole 9.
  • If you were to start on Palm Hole 6, you will play through to Palm Hole 9 and then proceed to Island Hole 1 and play through all 9 holes on Island Course, and then proceed back to continue from Palm Hole 1, and complete the round on Palm Hole 5.

LOCAL RULES

  1. Free Lift
    Through the green a ball may be lifted and dropped within one club length from the nearest point of relief not nearer the holes
    • Buggy path tyre marks
    • All flower beds
    • All trees marked with orange stakes
    • All areas marked with G.U.R
    • All appliances connected with sprinklers and drainage systems
  2. Immovable Obstructions (Rule 24-2)
    • Rain shelter pump houses
    • Tee sign, Distance Markers
    • Hazard Stakes except where the balls lie within a hazard
  3. Out of Bounds (Rule 27)
    • The boundary is marked with white stakes or lines or both
  4. Hazards water / lateral (Rule 26)
    • Water hazards are defined by yellow stakes or lines
    • Lateral water hazards are defined by red stakes or lines
  5. Provisional ball (Rule 27.2)
    • To speed up play a provisional ball may be played if there is evidence that the original ball may be out of bounds or had stayed away from the fairway
  6. Call on hole
    • All par 3’s are ‘call on hole’ players should mark their balls and stand
      behind the green when calling on a group behind to tee off.
